U.S. Government Jobs: A Growing Opportunity for New College Grads

If you're looking for job security and growth, consider the opportunities in the U.S. government.

Over the next 5 years, almost half of all employees in U.S. government jobs will be eligible for retirement. That means significant opportunities for new college graduates. In fact, nearly 21,000 new jobs are posted every day to www.usajobs.gov.

If you're interested in working for the federal government, start now by choosing an appropriate college degree. According to Where the Jobs Are: The Continuing Growth of Federal Job Opportunities, the most U.S. government jobs are expected to be in the following areas.

Security, Enforcement, and Compliance

The FBI and CIA are large employers in this group of U.S. government jobs. If you're interested in law enforcement, corrections, or security, look for college degrees in criminal justice or public safety.
